SAFCOL Learnerships

SAFCOL Learnerships

The South African Forestry Company (SAFCOL) is inviting applications from unemployed youths (18-35 years of age) who wish to pursue a career in building or construction of Timber Frame Structures. Successful applicants will be granted an opportunity to participate in a formal one-year Learnership Programme (SAQA-accredited, NQF Level 2 Community House Building, registered under Construction Education and Training Authority, Unit Standard number 24273). It will consist of accredited theoretical classroom training and practical training consisting of building actual Timber Frame Structures.

Learners will be based at SAFCOL’s operations in Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces, Timbadola Sawmill, Levubu Area near Makhado, and Platorand Training Centre in Sabie.

Application Requirements

Must be a South African citizen in good health;
Must have successfully completed Grade 12 with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy;
Must be prepared to work in noisy and dusty production environment; and
Must be prepared to work with heights.

The Tholoana Enterprise Programme applications are now open from the 15th February 2017 – 15th March 2017. Sixty successful candidates will be part of a high-energy solution that has helped hundreds of businesses to accelerate their success.

The Tholoana Enterprise Programme supports small enterprises that benefit – or are run by – women, the youth and those living in rural and peri-urban areas.

The SAB Foundation is especially keen to create opportunities for entrepreneurs with disability, who are strongly encouraged to apply. Similarly, applications are welcome from businesses working in new and/or growing sectors such as export, manufacturing, food processing, water, energy and waste management.

If you are an entrepreneur or business owner with a registered business (or in the process of registering) that has been in operation for at least six months and less than five years, you may be eligible for the programme.

Eligibility Criteria

The business is black-owned* and managed
The business is operational
The business is headquartered and registered (if applicable), within the South African borders
The business should be a going concern, commercially sustainable and viable
You are involved in the business’s daily operations and management on a full time basis, and are not employed by any other organisation
You have the skills and experience necessary for the type of business you’re engaged in
The business is in the early stages of growth (older than six months and no more than five years)

INTERNSHIP: GRADUATE VOLUNTARY INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME (VIP):2017/2018

The FSB invites applications for the Internship Programme 2017/2018 from recently qualified unemployed B.Com / NDip graduates, in Finance / Economics / Supply Chain Management / Logistic / Internal Auditing / Risk Management / General Business Administration / Facilities Management / Information Technology / Human Resources.

The Financial Services Board (FSB) is an independent institution established by statute as the regulator of the South African Non-Banking Financial Services Industry.

Its mission and vision are to promote and maintain a sound financial Investment environment in South Africa.

Application Requirements

The Internship Programme offers a structured work-based learning experience.

The successful candidates will be placed in the following departments within the FSB: Credit Ratings Services; Human Resources, Information Communications Technology; Risk Unit; Supply Chain Management and Security Administration and Facilities.
