Key Duties & Responsibilities

• The shortlisted applicants will perform General Assistant duties during a 3 month period
• The successful applicants will thereafter be contracted as Apprentices through FP&M SETA
• The apprentices will enter into a fixed term training contract with Paarl Media and the SETA for the duration of training
• Phase 1: Complete approximately 6 months theoretical training at the Novus Academy, Western Cape
• Phase2: Complete approximately 26-30 months at Paarl Media Cape for the core experiential component of the training

• An income will be earned throughout the program

Educational Requirements

• Matric/ Grade 12 with Mathematics or an equivalent qualification

Eskom Kriel Power Station 2016 Maintenance Learnerships

Eskom’s Kriel Power Station in Mpumalanga is inviting applications from unemployed South Africans with a Grade 12 OR N3 qualification to apply for their 2016-2017 Maintenance Learnerships. The learnerships are open to all South African citizens who meet the minimum requirements. A total of 28 learners will be placed on this learnership programme, and earn a competitive learnership allowance.

To be considered for Eskom’s Maintenance Learnerships at Kriel Power Station, you have to meet the following minimum requirements:

Have a Grade 12/ Matric OR an N3 certificate with Mathematics, (Physical OR Engineeing) Science and English as passed subjects;

The Council of Harry Gwala District Municipality have established five contract positions geared towards capacitating young graduates for a career in local government finance in this area of jurisdiction.

Municipal officials working in conjunction with the National Treasury, to ensure the trainees’ progress to a successful career in the Municipality, will provide substantial training and support.

The Department of Financial Services offers graduates an opportunity to acquire valuable work experience in the following disciplines:

• Auditing (2 positions)
• Financial Management (3 positions)

Requirements:

• A complete three year B.Com Degree/National Diploma with a major in either Financial Management, Management Accounting, Local Government Finance and Internal Auditing

ICC Learnerships/Internships Opportunities

The Durban ICC is calling for suitable Graduates to join their graduate programme within the Operations Department. The graduate programme is a 12 month programme.

The position within the Graduate Programme is that of a Technical Trainee.

The incumbent will be required to perform tasks supporting five events within the Durban ICC, a 7-day, 24hr business.

The position reports directly to the respective Operations Manager, working closely with the Technical Administrator, the Technical Operators and Co-ordinators and respective team members as well as the Operations & Events Department.

Only graduates who have completed a relevant qualification at a recognised tertiary institution within 24 months of their application for this position will be considered for employment.

The Durban ICC is one of the most advanced conferencing facilities in the world, having been voted Africa’s Leading Conference Centre at the World Travel Awards for 15 years.

Requirements

Audio Visual Diploma/ Performing Arts Technology/ specializing in sound, lighting and audio-visual / similar tertiary certification.
Computer skills.
Good command of the English language (both written and verbal).

Key Performance Areas:

Ensures that the Operations sheet and floor plans are followed accurately and additional requested/ requirements are executed timeously.

Hands-on delivery and quality checks to ensure that the Durban ICC standards are constantly adhered to.
Provides solutions to problems/ challenges by communicating with senior team members.
Undertakes general administration and clerical tasks such as but not limited to: stock-take, event reports, attending to client queries. following up on delivery of services, ensuring stage certifications take place etc.

BDO Bursaries

BDO Bursaries

BDO bursaries are awarded to students deserving of and studying towards a Chartered Accountancy qualification. Bursary preference is given to well-rounded individuals who perform equally well in all areas of their lives.

BDO bursaries are financial assistance that is made available or given to students for further study for either degree, post graduate studies or both.

These bursaries are awarded on a financial needs basis and are linked to satisfactory academic achievements with a solid academic track record at school and/or university.

Students who are awarded a bursary are required to serve a training contract with the specific office who awarded the bursary on completion of their studies.

Bursaries have conditions attached to them and once students have completed their studies, students will have to work for a period of three years.

BDO Bursaries Amount

BDOS’s amount of money can be for that of a full bursary or that of a half bursary.

Our bursaries do not cover all study expenses and only covers registration fees, tuition fees and books for each year of study.

Students have to therefore be prepared to meet some of the costs.

Applications are collected and processed throughout the course of the year, due to the number of applicants, applicants may only receive feedback towards the end of the year.

BDO Bursary Application Criteria

NOT be signed with any other professional services firm to complete a training contract;
NOT be in possession of a bursary / scholarship / financial assistance award which has employment obligations or post training contract employment obligations;
Be planning to study towards a Chartered Accountancy qualification (learners/scholars);
Commitment to study towards a Chartered Accountancy qualification with majors in accounting and auditing;
Be studying at a university which offers South African Institute of Chartered Accountants’ (SAICA) accredited programmes through to Honours / CTA level.
